Deborah

I haven’t updated in a while.  In the past month, I said my farewells in Michigan and moved back to Southern California. In addition to the inevitable craze of relocating, and adjusting to living in a big city …my external hard drive died and I lost AALLLLLLLLL my photos. If they are not posted to my flickr account, they have been tragically lost forever.  So all yea…photo sadness.

During my last week in Michigan I did a photo shoot with Deb. Despite the HOT, and unbearably HUMID weather we got a lot of great shots!  Something that I have been trying to work on is composition.  Lately, I have noticed that my photos from previous posts look really flat….the angle of the shot is captured but the art of capturing is not at all up to par. As I have had the opportunity to shoot more, I’m think I’m finally starting to develop a ’style’.  I hope you guys enjoy this set, and please leave comments.

Adrienne

Adrienne and I met in graduate school.  Together, we have battled statistics, java and a few other project courses.  No matter how stressed out we were about a class, we always managed to make the most of it and laugh our way through our late night group meetings. As a local Michigander, she was always quick to point out and defend all the great things about living in the Midwest when my head would swell up and gush with California pride.  I can blame her for my new found <3 for quality outwear and disdain for cats.  After a few weeks of rescheduling due to terrible, unpredictable Michigan weather, we finally had a photo shoot in Kerrytown and at a small park along the Huron river. Graduate School

I organized a group photoshoot for some of my friends who have shared in my time here at the University of Michigan- School of Information.   They are individuals who have made this experience memorable and worthwhile. Even though, some nights and courses were stressful and sleep depriving we shared in the suffering and live to tell about it.  They are some of the most talented individuals I know, and am certain that they will do well for themselves as we all part ways to pursue our careers.  God Bless everyone! I want to be a dancer…

This weekend I had the privilege of shooting my friend Amber at her dance studio. Watching her dance makes me want to dance.  I think that there is a confidence that comes with understanding your body- the way it moves and extends, while being cognizant of its strengths and limitations.  As a spectator, there is beauty and freedom watching people channel their emotions through dance, I can only image how liberating it feels to be the one expressing it with movement.  Enjoy.

April showers bring May flowers =)

In general, I have always loved the spring season but there is something captivating about experiencing spring in the Midwest.  I feel like I just woke up one day and the town was budding with green life again.  It gets so cold during the winter that I find it hard to believe how nature seems to sustain life amidst the freezing temperatures. It’s amazing how a little sunshine and warmth transforms the lifeless-dead earth from death to life. I haven’t shot any pictures of the greenery but it’s on my list of things to do.

Below, are pictures of that I took of my favorite little friend Hannah.  I shot these photos a while back but didn’t have the opportunity to post them till now. Enjoy and leave comments if you are following along! =).
